Graphic & Interface Design
Nobody likes a show-off. With the rare exception of pure entertainment sites, few people are going to visit your web site so that they can enjoy the pretty logos, the animated splash page or the nice big photo of the chairman. While these elements may have a place in determining a site's tone, the underlying design rule that we follow is: design for the user, not for the client. Designing for the client means reflecting the company's view of itself, where logo, press releases and a 'sexy' animation of the words progress and solution rule the day. But in designing for the user, HomePage's sites allow visitors to get more out of a site because it's designed with their requirements in mind. That means giving users direct access to all parts of the site through a good menu structure, giving them direct access to enquiry (and complaint!) procedures, and allowing them to find out everything they need to know about your products and services. Classic design for new mediaIn developing the look of your site, HomePage uses the classic graphic design techniques of contrast, balance, impact and refinement to carry your company's existing identity - including logos, fonts, corporate colours and any other devices used to establish your brand - through to the web. At the same time, we aim to balance your design requirements with the natural restrictions of the web, including typical screen dimensions and colour limitations, so that the vast majority of site visitors will see the site in just the way you intended. Visit our Client List for examples of our design skills, and if you have a project in mind that requires any level of web interface design, please drop us a line for a free assessment.
